GCF Learn

A great resource that every technologist should know about is gcflearnfree.org/. This website provides top notch tutorials for some of the most popular software applications. It is a great place to start when learning a new piece of software. We are going to use this website as our starting point for learning Google’s spreadsheet software – Google Sheets.

The worksheet below has been shared with you via Google Classroom. Fill in the blanks as you complete each of the 8 steps in the Google Sheets tutorial above. Consider each blank a checkpoint, if you’ve moved on to the next step in the tutorial without filling in the blank, go back – don’t miss a check point!

Build a Form

In this part of the lesson, we’re going to use a lesser known Google application called Google Forms. Google Forms is a great application for data collection. A Google form is basically a simple, interactive web page that is connected to a spreadsheet.
First watch the video below in its entirety, then complete the survey below. Afterwards, follow along with the video as you build your own survey. Your survey can be about anything, but it must include the following:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Some other question

Spreadsheet Stations

Create a new spreadsheet in Google Sheets. Create 6 new sheets in the single file. Label each one “Station 1-6.” Complete each of the station tasks below in the newly created spreadsheet.
