Lesson 1: Getting Started (Again)

For this project, we’re going to use a tool that also exists in Photoshop, the pen tool. It’s arguably more important to be able to use the pen tool in Illustrator than Photoshop.

The Bezier Game

Before we get to work in Adobe Illustrator, check out the game at the following link: http://bezier.method.ac/.  Once you can easily pass the “car level,” you’ll be ready to get to work.

Project Files

Download the following Project Files to H:Drive > Graphics 161 > 02 – Adobe Illustrator > 01 – Introduction to Illustrator.

Getting to Know the Work Area

With your Chromebook, open the Getting to Know the Work Area file in Google Classroom, and then write down the answer to each question as you rotate from station to station. You may use your partners for help as you rotate through each station.

Turkey Challenge

Once you’ve completed the exercises above, create a new folder in the following location: H:Drive > Graphics 161 > 02 – Illustrator > 02 – Turkey. Then download the image file below.

See if you can recreate the following image using predefined shapes and the pen tool.

See the video below to get started on the project above.
